What is the Abyss?

The Abyss is a mysterious and terrifying dimension that exists between worlds, where all Earth gates are said to lead. It is a vast, seemingly infinite dimension with an endless variety of landscapes, inhabited by creatures born from the darkest nightmares. This dimension is both a prison and a pathway, where the unknown and the unimaginable converge.

The Gates and DNC Power

The gates within the Abyss are powered by Dark Crystals (Later known as DNC), a powerful energy source capable of sustaining the gates for centuries. Each gate is programmed to open to a specific destination, allowing for controlled travel between points. Some speculate that there are gates within the Abyss that connect to distant planets, possibly explaining the origins of some of the monstrous creatures that now threaten Earth. Who Made the Gates into the Abyss?

It is widely believed that the Chthonians, an ancient and powerful race, are the creators of these gates, known as the Gates of Abyss. The Chthonians are thought to have designed these gates as tools of devastation, using them to push back a planet's evolution and weaken its defenses. This tactic makes the inhabitants of such worlds easier to conquer or keeps them out of the Chthonians' path as they pursue their relentless intergalactic expansion.

The Future of Humanity and Interstellar Travel

In the future, humanity will harness the power of DNC and gate technology to achieve interstellar travel. Above the desolate lands of the Abyss lies an expanse of infinite space, referred to as Abyss Space—later known as Jump Space. With this technology, a portal can be opened in front of a spacecraft, allowing it to pass into Abyss Space (Jump Space). Once inside, the ship's computer calculates the next destination and opens a second portal, enabling the ship to exit back into our own space light years from its point of origin.

This revolutionary use of DNC and gate technology not only makes interstellar travel possible but also redefines humanity's place in the cosmos, allowing for exploration and expansion beyond the confines of our home planet. The Abyss, once a source of fear, will someday become a vital link in our journey to the stars.
